Progress Press - 2008 Ad Campaign     

Eyetopia Design has worked with Progress Press for many years, and when they decided to launch their 2008 ad campaign, they came to us for guidance. Eyetopia delivered a series of ads that helped them connect with their audience and call attention to their products.

A major goal of Progress Press was to refine their messaging and grab readers attention. The ads were going to be placed in major national music publications, and the client desired ads that would stand out among the crowd. Several ad concepts were proposed, of which two were chosen for development.

The project was extensive, with Eyetopia Design delivering nearly 500 print ads in various sizes for different magazine placements. Ads were delivered in both CMYK and B&W modes for further flexibility. Each individual ad was "camera ready" and delivered digitally in eps and pdf formats.

Ravinia Festival    
One Score, One Chicago   

The "One Score, One Chicago" features are special websites within the official Ravinia Festival website. To promote this special concert series, Eyetopia has created highly interactive web presentations including audio, video and Flash animations.

One Score One Chicago - 2007 View This Website (Note: Page will open in new browser window) Ravinia Festival commissioned this special website to promote their 2007 series of performances of Water Music, featuring Alexander Zemlinksy's The Mermaid. In addition to the featured piece, several other pconcerts were also highlighted and featured on the website. Sound samples are placed throughout the site, creating a musical environment which accompanies the text essays. A music library is available for listening, using Flash to stream stereo audio files. The site also features audio dialog by Music Director James Conlon, a special Kids Activity section featuring animated illustrations from the One Score, One Chicago Resource Guide, and more!

Informative essays accentuated with sound samples explore the world of Water Music. An animated Children's presentation created using Adobe's Flash plugin was included in the website.

One Score One Chicago - 2006 View English version View Spanish version (Note: Page will open in new browser window) To promote their concert series of Robert Schumann's works, featuring his composition Scenes From Childhood, Ravinia commissioned this special website. Both English and Spanish versions of this site were created by Eyetopia Design, and feature animated Flash movies with custom sound production. Sound samples are placed throughout the site, creating a musical environment which accompanies the text essays. A music library containing the entire music composition is available for download, as well as other selected works by the composer. The site also features audio dialog by Music Director James Conlon, a special Kids Activity section featuring animated illustrations from the One Score, One Chicago Resource Guide, and more!

One Score One Chicago - 2005

View English version View Spanish version (Note: Page will open in new browser window) To promote their special concert series of Richard Strauss'Don Quixote, Ravinia commisioned this website,featuring the incredible artwork of French artist Gustave Doré. Both English and Spanish versions of this site were created by Eyetopia Design, and feature an animated Flash movie with custom sound production on the home page. Sound samples are paired with images from the story of Don Quixote to help the viewer understand how the music ties in with the story. The site also features video dialog by CEO Welz Kauffman and Music Director James Conlon, a special Kids Activity section realized in Macromedia Flash, and more!

For the first One Score, One Chicago, Ravinia commissioned this interactive Flash movie outlining the components of a musical score. Using the music of Hector Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique, Eyetopia Design created this in-depth presentation featuring animation and custom sound production.



Ravinia Festival - Behind the Music

Eyetopia Design created these seasonal websites to promote and expand the information available on specific Ravinia Seasons. Once again, Eyetopia has provided custom sound production and Flash animation to both enlighten and entertain. While the focus of their promotional efforts has since centered on their "One Score, One Chicago," offerings, these sites have been archived as an example of what is possible with a relationship with Eyetopia Design.

The Chicago Lighthouse

The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired is one of the oldest social service agencies in Chicago. Founded in 1906, it offers programs for children with multi-disabilities, job training and placement, a low vision clinic, and a manufacturing facility that boasts the nation's sole contract to supply clocks to the U.S. government. Helen Keller was a keynote speaker at the dedication of their new building in 1956, as well as a common visitor to the Lighthouse's annual dinners during the 1940s and 1950s. The Lighthouse is regarded as the most comprehensive agency of its kind in the Midwest and a model agency nationally.

When they decided to upgrade the face of their website, Eyetopia Design was chosen to provide the design. Unlike many websites we have created, The Chicago Lighthouse has unique needs when it comes to accessibility for vision-impaired users. Eyetopia responded with a design which maintains the usability for these persons, while at the same time is visually pleasing to those with unimpaired or slightly disadvantaged sight. Subtle background imaging was employed to enhance the display of the left navigation field in such a manner that it would not interfere with the usability of the site or be noticed by those with a vision impairment. The navigation links are large and easy-to-read. The ability to reverse the background colors and change the size of text was maintained, an important factor for those with a vision impairment. The ability to expand the width of the site to any size of browser window was also maintained. Secondary interfaces were provided for the Lighthouse staff which they could easily and quickly update with new information, so that they can maintain the site themselves. Overall the site is clear, easy to read and navigate, and is usable for both visually impaired and unimpaired visitors.

The secondary interface contains a sub-navigation bar, and is easy for Lighthouse staff to update. The website maintains the ability for users to change text size, font and background color.

Group MW

Group MW is a highly acclaimed manufactures representative firm, considered in the trade as one of the best in the business, and it was important that their website reflect their position as an industry leader. Eyetopia Design delivered a website for them that showcases this position in the industry.

The website was launched on June 1, 2007, and makes extensive use of Flash movies and animated sequences to showcase Group MW's products and services in a lively, upscale presentation. The Group MW logo is the centerpiece of their home page, and "mouseover" effects on the buttons reveals specific information about each area of expertise. Once a link is clicked, a secondary interface allows for further exploration of their products and services, and in some cases, plays a short loop of information pertaining to the link clicked. Overall, the site is decidedly different from the average website, and stands apart from the static presentations of their competitors.

The home page features customized "mouseover" effects for the buttons. The secondary interface plays selected Flash movies as unique, informative presentations.

Database Marketing Consulting is a relatively new business, and they chose Eyetopia Design to create their debut website. In addition to designing the website, Eyetopia Design also created their logo, visual identity, and a number of printed promotional materials.

In creating the Database Marketing Consulting website, we used our expertise in marketing to deliver their messaging in a straightforward, yet subtly elegant manner. The home page balances a number of different elements, and Eyetopia Design organized these elements in a clear, consistent manner, pushing the most important messaging to the forefront. Navigation is consistent throughout the site, allowing users to quickly and easily find the information they need. Overall, the site is clean and balanced, easy to maintain and update, and communicates effectively to its target audience.

The latest arts organization to utilize the IntellimmercialTM is the New York Philharmonic. Seeking a way to promote a series of holiday concerts, the Philharmonic took advantage of the unique combination of robust programming and effective messaging the Intellimmercial has to offer.
